Four steps
Clean the wheel
Position the cover
Stitch it on
Finish at the spokes
Wipe the steering wheel clean and let it dry, so the leather sits evenly.
Place the cover over the rim with the seam on the inside of the wheel, and line up the cut-outs with the spokes.
Using the needle and waxed thread from the kit, stitch through the pre-punched holes, pulling the thread snug every few stitches.
Work around each spoke carefully, then tie off the thread neatly on the inside of the rim.
Top tip
Even tension gives the best finish
Pull the thread a little at a time as you go, so the leather edges meet neatly without gaps or wrinkles.

Stitch styles
Two popular stitches
Cross stitch
X-pattern
The thread crosses over the seam in an X pattern for a classic, decorative look.
Baseball stitch
Straight bars
The thread makes straight parallel bars across the seam for a simple, clean look.
